Katherine Chu

Katherine Chu graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and obtained her Master’s degree in 2019. Her research was focusing on investigating how building features such as arcades and canopies in an urban street canyon affect people’s thermal comfort psychologically during winter in Hong Kong by using qualitative and quantitative methods concurrently. As a student assistant, she has also worked on the departmental research project about audio-visual interactions in composite neighborhood views.


Katherine has gained diverse experiences in environmental engineering and management upon her graduation by being involved in numerous projects of Environmental Assessment Study (EAS), Independent Environmental Checker (IEC), Environmental Monitoring and Audit (EM&A) works, green building certification consultancy for public and private sectors, and construction noise control and management.


Her professional experiences includes environmental assessments of noise impact and air quality impact, IEC, and EM&A works. Katherine is also skilled in the application of environmental modelling software for noise impact assessment and air quality impact assessment, and preparation of EAS reports. Apart from environmental engineering discipline, Katherine also took part in the preparation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report for various listed companies in Hong Kong, especially specialized in carbon audit, data consolidation and analysis on social and environmental performance of the Clients.
